A downloadable game

After learning how to code at my college and attending a few Game Jams, I started using Unity on my own. Over time I would try several genres and gimmicks, seeking not only to learn how to use it but also to test if I could produce something interesting. With the approaching 2018 presidential elections, the impact of those on social media, the never-ending influx of memes, and my personal memories of playing both Constructor and Constructor: Street Wars at a young age, I thought: what if I can make a parody of all that?

Then, work started on Corruptor. And a lot of work was done, but instead of providing gameplay first I focused too much into making a random city generator which I never was satisfied with. I think I wanted to somehow make a realistic city using a inflexible square grid, with limited sizes for all those buildings I considered for the finished game.

During gameplay, you send your units to convince the citzens to vote for your party, using whatever means necessary, and directly confront the enemy forces if needed. Unlawful acts would build up an corruption meter, which when filled would make the law enforcement agencies investigate you and, unless foiled or appeased, terminate your mayoral application as well as your freedom.

It was a project too complex for my programming skills at the time. Besides, feature creep happened because every now and then one heated political discussion would emerge and be memed thoroughly, and from it new ideas would come. I started the project several months before the election, but for the reasons mentioned above I missed my self-imposed deadline. And then I've moved on to other projects.
